Some couples drive hours just to check off a destination. Jenna and Tyler? They drove from South Dakota, squeezed in their best friend’s college graduation, and still made time for a North Shore engagement session… and honestly, that tells you everything you need to know about them.

When they reached out, they knew they wanted someone who really knows the North Shore. (That’s kind of my thing!!) And Palisade Head was calling their name, the dramatic cliffside views, minimal hiking required, and that moody Lake Superior energy that never gets old.

Okay yes, it was May. And yes, the lake had opinions about that. The trees were still bare and the breeze coming off the water was giving full-on “pack a jacket” vibes. But here’s the thing about Jenna and Tyler: they were completely unfazed. These two were cracking jokes, giggling at each other, and just genuinely having the best time. The cold didn’t stand a chance against their energy.

After Palisade Head we popped over to Black Beach, and wow, it was beautiful. The dark rocks, the steel-blue water, those bare birch trees… it’s the kind of early-season North Shore magic that I don’t think gets enough credit.
